Interceptors often have a variety of substances in them, ranging from oil to petrol/diesel. We are seeking a full-time permanent Drainage Engineer who is able to work alone or as part of a team to carry out a wide range of drainage works in the North West area.

Drainage/Groundwork experience preferred but not essential – full training is available.

Applicants must hold a full UK driving license.

Starting Salary £30,683 increasing to £34,092 on completion of successful training period + bonus payments, on call payments and overtime.

Will require company DBS check, payable by the company.

Root infestation and subsequent blocked drains are a common problem in drains near to planted areas. Roots infiltrate drains either through defective pipe joints or cracks, fractures and holes in the pipework.  If the pipework is not badly damaged, roots can often be removed using specialist root cutting equipment or high pressure jetting using a specialist root cutting jet head.

If the root infestation is extensive and damage to the pipework is great, the appropriate solution to this would be to line the drain or carry out an excavation and install new pipework.  Our Engineers can advise on the correct action required.

Planned maintenance schedules these days are a must for all School’s, College’s and Universities. This type of forward planning ensures that work is carried out during the School holidays and not when the classrooms are full.

Ideally external drainage work is carried out every 6 months or yearly depending on the site. March/April is an ideal time to wash away all the Winter debris, grit, mud, fallen branches and other items that get flushed into the drainage systems during the Winter months. Later on in the year October/November is the ideal time to clear away all the fallen leaves and prepare for Winter.
